Accredited CPD training means the learning activity has reached the required Continuing Professional Development standards and benchmarks. The learning value has been scrutinised to ensure integrity and quality.

An activity must be a CPD Activity (amongst other things) before it may be considered for accreditation by the International Center For Professional Development® (ICPD®). A CPD Activity must:

  1. deal primarily with matters relating to the practice of the profession;
  2. comprise significant intellectual or practical content;
  3. seek to extend the professional’s knowledge and skills in areas that are relevant to the professional’s practice needs; and
  4. be conducted by persons who are qualified by practical or academic experience in the subject covered.

Currently, for a CPD Activity to be considered for accreditation by the ICPD®, such activity must be held in the provider's country and be open to all, without discrimination, to attend, whether for a fee or otherwise.

The organiser should also have a local presence in the same country since accreditation involves continuing obligations post-event, on the part of the organiser, including an obligation to maintain records for up to three (3) full CPD Years after the event and to submit to the ICPD® for audit.

Please note that the ICPD® does not consider accreditation activities that do not meet the criteria for a CPD Activity.

If your activity would appear, at a glance, to fulfil the requirements briefly summarised above and you are interested in submitting that activity for accreditation by the ICPD®, kindly send us the following details so that we may assess whether the activity is eligible for accreditation:

  1. the topics covered and how the speaker intends to address these topics;
  2. a breakdown of the learning objectives for the event;
  3. the program flyer and registration form;
  4. information about the speakers;
  5. details about your organization (including details of any office/point-of-contact).

A request for accreditation must be submitted at least 8 weeks before the start of the activity. You must not indicate that your activity is pending accreditation (or make any other indication to that effect) unless authorised by the ICPD® to do so. You may contact us using the Contact Form here.

Please note that you need to be either an Accredited Provider or an Accredited Trainer before you can get your activities accredited.
